Nikli's pronouns

Is it right to refer to Nikli as ‘it’ in this article? Would ‘they’ not be more appropriate? Unless there’s an in-text reason for this it seems a little odd.

Thanks for asking! The Keepers had a discussion about this and we felt that, since it/its are the pronouns the Sleepless use when they are talking with each other (i.e. when they aren't they aren't pretending to be human), those are the pronouns we should use. As Chaos later put it, "Swarms of bugs do not follow our gender conventions."
