Melhi / Sophie[edit]

Hey folks, so I've been preparing to write the Melhi article, thinking it would warm me up for the Sophie article, until I realized that Sophie redirects to Melhi. I want to advocate the separation of the two articles, because the detailed history which we learn of Sophie is not necessarily Melhi's history. It could have been entirely fabricated, and I haven't seen a WoB state that the histories are the same. I've just submitted a question the the AMA (which he's still bothering with), so hopefully he can give us confirmation on this. --Blaze1616 (talk) 07:33, 7 August 2015 (MDT)

I am in favor of them being separated. Even if Sophie's "backstory" is based on Melhi's I would say that she counts as a distinct "Machineborn" entity as I did not get the impression that Melhi was personally directing all of her actions (she just set up Sophie's programming and sent her off). In my opinion that classifies her as a distinct character.--WeiryWriter (talk) 12:49, 7 August 2015 (MDT)
I don't mind either way, as long as both pages have enough info on them (aka they're not stub length, even after being complete). But yeah I can agree that they fall under the same scheme we've been discussing for Shard pages and things like that. --Joe ST (talk) 01:36, 8 August 2015 (MDT)
All right, Brandon responded to my AMA post. The history Sophie details is Melhi's history. I'm still all for separating the two articles as I think I'll be able to make Melhi's article a good length given the details within the flashback chapters, as well as the grudge against Kai and the like, though I might do a sandbox page on it to make sure I have enough separate content. --Blaze1616 (talk) 09:53, 10 August 2015 (MDT)
If Sophie's backstory is the same as Melhi's, shouldn't it be included in the article? We should of course mention that as this is what was said by Sophie, it may not nessessarily be totally true, but the article is rather small... --AnnieBudgie (talk) 01:44, 20 September 2016 (MST)
