Lord Stanoux is a linguist and a member of the Set on Scadrial.[1]

Lord Stanoux made a study of ancient anteverdent languages, becoming one of Scadrial's foremost experts on the subject.[1] At some point he came into contact with the Set, and joined their ranks. He and his aunt, Lady Stansi, traveled to the city of Dulsing in the Elendel Basin to visit the Set compound that had been built around the wreck of Brunstell.
