Skai was the original Vessel of the Shard Dominion.[2] Sometime after the Shattering, she and Aona took up residence on Sel.[1] Edgli believes that, by doing so, they violated the original Vessels' pact to not settle on the same world as another Shard,[3][4] though the exact terms of that agreement are somewhat unclear.[5]

Abilities and Attributes

Skai was a Shard of Adonalsium, making her one of the most powerful entities in the cosmere. Prior to being splintered she was immortal, unaging, and incorporeal. The Dor is a fuels the magics AonDor, Dakhor, ChayShan, Forgery, and Bloodsealing.[6][7]

History

Nothing is known about Skai's origins and life prior to the Shattering, other than that she came from Yolen.[8] For unknown reason, she and a group of others broke the cosmere's creator deity, Adonalsium, into sixteen pieces.[9] Of those sixteen, she took up Dominion, and departed alongside Devotion for Sel.[10]

Trivia

  • Although Skai was often assumed to be male in the fandom, Brandon currently plans for Skai's pronouns to be she/her, though that is subject to change until canonized in a book.[11]
