Saltstone is a type of rock found on Lumar. It is black, crumbles easily, and gets into everything. Plants cannot grow on Saltstone, and it taints soil in contact with it, killing even potted plants over time. It also makes food and drink taste different, giving it all a salty flavor.

The island of Diggen's Point is made of Saltstone, and operates mines to extract salt from the rock.[1] The saltstone of the island is powerful enough to kill aether spores floating above it.[1]
