Makabak is a region in southwestern Roshar occupied by several kingdoms and princedoms which share a common ethnicity and culture.[1]

The region includes the nations of Alm, Azir, Desh, Emul, Greater Hexi, Liafor, Marat, Steen, Tashikk, Tu Fallia, Tukar, Yezier, and about half of Triax.[2] There are approximately thirty Makabaki languages--Azish chief among them.[3]

The Prime Aqasix of Azir traditionally claims authority as emperor of Makabak, though in practice his power beyond Azir is quite limited.[1]
