Iyatil
Groups Ghostbloods
Homeworld Roshar

Iyatil is a member of the Ghostbloods, a secret organization on Roshar. She purports to be Mraize's master, instead of the other way around, and is thus presumably a high ranking member of the organization.[1][2]

Appearance

Usually dressed in a simple trousers and shirt, Shallan mistakes her for a male the first time seeing her.[3] She wears a red-orange carapace mask which is growing into her skin and has dark eyes.[4] She has also been confirmed to be a Worldhopper, supervising Mraize.[5] She now lives on Roshar, while her home planet is another one. Yet her people are from a third planet.[5]

After the Battle of Narak a character matching her description attempted to assassinate Highlord Amaram with a blowgun. Her attempt is foiled by Talenel, who is able to grab the poisoned darts from the air. She then flees and is described as moving "too quickly" to be chased. [6]

Theories

This page or section deals with theories or speculation.
Please read carefully and note that this is not necessarily canonical.

It is speculated that Iyatil is the 'Visitor' encountered by the Shardpool in Shadows of Self

Although not yet proven it is highly likely that Iyatil is originally from Scadrial, specifically the lands to the south of the Elendel Basin where the people were sequestered away by the Lord Ruler during his ascension. Considering the way that she refers to hunters and has passed the hunting ideology and mindset onto Mraize, it is likely she belongs to the caste known as "Hunters"[7] within that society.
