Iyatil is a member of the Ghostbloods, a secret organization on Roshar.
Usually dressed in a simple trousers and shirt, Shallan mistakes her for a boy the first time seeing her;[1] she also wears a red-orange carapace mask.[2] She purports to be Mraize's master, instead of the other way around, and is thus presumably a high ranking member of the organization.[3][4] She has also been confirmed to be a Worldhopper, supervising Mraize.[5]
It is speculated that Iyatil is the 'Visitor' encountered by the Shardpool in Shadows of Self
Although not yet proven it is highly likely that Iyathil is originally from Scadrial, specifically the lands to the south of the Elendel Basin where the people were sequestered away by the Lord Ruler during his ascension. Considering the way that she refers to hunters and has passed the hunting ideology and mindset onto Mraize it is likely she belongs to the caste known as "Hunters"[6] within that society.
