Iyatil is a member of the Ghostbloods, a secret organization on Roshar. She purports to be Mraize's master, instead of the other way around, and is thus presumably a high-ranking member of the organization. Though she currently lives on Roshar, she is from Silverlight, and is actually a descendant of the Southern Scadrians.

Appearance and Personality

Usually dressed in a simple trousers and shirt, Shallan mistakes her for a male the first time seeing her. She wears a red-orange carapace mask, which is growing into her skin, and has dark eyes. This mask is not Invested.

Abilities and Attributes

Not much is known about Iyatil's abilities. She is confident that she can escape from an Alethi facility without assistance. After she attempts to assasssinate Amaram, she is described as moving "too quickly" to be chased. She has also been confirmed to be a worldhopper, supervising Mraize.

History

Birthplace and Heritage (Date Unknown)

Though Iyatil now lives on Roshar, it is not her home planet; she is of Southern Scadrian heritage, and she personally is from Silverlight. Iyatil was not born on Scadrial.

On Roshar (Date Unknown - 1174)

As of 1173, Iyatil is a high-ranking member of the Ghostbloods and lives on Roshar. She is present at Shallan's first meeting with the Ghostbloods and follows Shallan after the meeting, trying to track her back to Tyn. She later accompanies Shallan on a mission for the Ghostbloods, investigating the recent arrival of Talenel to the Alethi warcamps. After the Battle of Narak, a character matching her description attempts to assassinate Highlord Amaram with a blowgun. Her attempt is foiled by Talenel and she manages to escape.

Relationships

Iyatil is a member of the Ghostbloods and appears to have a particularly close relationship with Mraize. She was at one time a part of the Seventeenth Shard.

It is speculated that Iyatil is the 'Visitor' encountered by Nicelle Sauvage in the mountains of the Elendel Basin.

Iyatil is descended from the Southern Scadrians. Considering the way that she refers to hunters and has passed the hunting ideology and mindset onto Mraize, it is likely that her heritage specifically belongs to the clan known as the Hunters within that society. Additionally, the description of how her mask grew into her skin, as described in Words of Radiance, matches the description of how Hunters wear their masks in The Bands of Mourning.
