Iyatil is a member of the Ghostbloods, a secret organization on Roshar. She purports to be Mraize's master, instead of the other way around, and is thus presumably a high ranking member of the organization.[1][2]

Theories
It is speculated that Iyatil is the 'Visitor' encountered by the Shardpool in Shadows of Self
Although not yet proven it is highly likely that Iyatil is originally from Scadrial, specifically the lands to the south of the Elendel Basin where the people were sequestered away by the Lord Ruler during his ascension. Considering the way that she refers to hunters and has passed the hunting ideology and mindset onto Mraize, it is likely she belongs to the caste known as "Hunters"[7] within that society. Additionally, the description of how her mask grew into her skin, as described in Words of Radiance, matches the description of how Hunters wear their masks in Bands of Mourning.
