Hobart
Homeworld Scadrial
Universe Cosmere

Hobart is the leader of a crew of bandits in the Final Empire on Scadrial.[1]

Appearance and Personality

He is missing most of his teeth and some of his fingers.[1] Hobart and his band are brutes that all carry weapons, wear ragged, ash-stained clothing, and have a noticeable stench.[1] They are simple minded and only interested in base desires such as money, food, and sex, making them susceptible to emotional Allomancy.[1]

History

Allrianne Cett encounters Hobart's gang after she leaves Luthadel alone and travels west in search of her father's army.[2][1] Somewhere along her route, Hobart and his gang charge down a hillside intending to rob and rape her, but she takes control of their emotions using her Rioting abilities.[1] Allrianne is actually happy to see bandits that she can easily Riot because she knows they will provide her with shelter and an escort.[1] Allrianne uses her abilities to appeal to Hobart's desire for money, making him believe that her father will reward the bandits handsomely if they help her find his army, and Hobart suddenly takes on a "gentlemanly" demeanor.[1]

Hobart's gang helps Allrianne locate the army, as she had originally headed in the wrong direction.[1] Upon their arrival, she again uses Allomancy to smooth over an awkward encounter with Cett's guards, telling them to provide the bandits with food and lodging.[1] Ashweather notes that this is not the first time Allrianne has used bandits as a personal retinue.[1] Allrianne tells him that some gold and prostitutes are all it would take to hire Hobart's crew as mercenaries who could help defend the army's supply lines.[1]
