This article describes how to engage in discussion on the Coppermind.

If you wish to discuss things in general, you should head over to the board over on the 17th Shard website.

If you have to discuss something on the wiki, click on the Discussion tab at the top of the page and then click the + tab next to 'edit' (or 'create'), which lets you make a new topic for discussion.

To add to a current topic, click the edit link next to the subtitle.

To format the thread of discussion we prefix our comment with :'s. After three people comment, the page will look like this:

Hey there, I'm first!
: oooooh, I'm second :o
:: totally got here third!

Hey there, I'm first!

oooooh, I'm second :o
totally got here third!

To sign a comment, which lets other users know who made it, you append ~~~~ to the end of your comment.

To make multiple lines of comments:

: this line is indented
: and so is this one ~~~~
this line is indented
and so is this one Joe ST 12:19, 20 September 2011 (UTC)

Once there has been a number of comments on a topic, the indentation will need to be reduced:

::::: this line is indented too far
:::::: and so is this one
: so reduce the indentation for your comment
this line is indented too far
and so is this one
so reduce the indentation for your comment
