Geved is a veteran soldier from Jah Keved on Roshar.[1]

Appearance and PersonalityEdit

He is elderly and has a stare that looks like it goes through you. He is missing his right arm, and he is wearing a clean uniform with a patch from his defunct platoon when he meets Dalinar. He seems to respect the art of war and thinks of it as part of his way of life.[1]

HistoryEdit

Geved mentioned fighting in both international and civil skirmishes. At some point in his military career, he was the only survivor of his platoon. Despite the loss of his arm, he actually seemed to look back on the fighting fondly.[1]

After the Battle of Vedenar, Dalinar visited the city with with Taravangian. Dalinar met with a group of sole survivors in a field hospital near one of the city gates. Geved was the last one in line, accompanied by a younger soldier. As a member of Brightlord Nalanar's Veden army, Geved had faced Dalinar's Alethi army during a battle at Slickrock prior to the War of Reckoning, and had always wanted to meet the Blackthorn. After reminiscing with him about Slickrock, Dalinar asked about the civil war. Geved becomes agitated, and told him that it was unlike any battles he had experienced in his career. The soldiers would not stop fighting and had insatiable bloodlust. As other soldiers chimed in, Dalinar began to feel the Thrill, and realized that it left the Shattered Plains to come to Vedenar.[1]
