Eshene was King Iadon's second wife, and Prince Raoden's adoptive mother. She fit Iadon's prejudices regarding women to a fault--she was highly domestic, flighty, far from intelligent, and more prone to inane babble than intelligent discussion. Eshene relied heavily on her husband, although she did participate in Sarene's fencing lessons for a short time. Unfortunately, the shock of learning of her husbands involvement with the Mysteries was too great, and Eshene was left a shell of her former self.
