Dims is the leader of one of Elendel's more important street gangs. He's young, and he wears a bowler hat and a bow tie. He wears his shirt with the sleeves torn off like the rest of his gang. His gang and another gang called the Cobblers are rivals. Many of the members of his gang are children of the houseless.[1]
Wayne talks to Dims just before his monthly visit to Elendel University. Dims asks Wayne if he's a constable today, to which Wayne replies he is not. Dims introduces Wayne to gum, giving him a piece, then giving him a second piece when Wayne swallows the first. Dims asks if Wayne brought him the money he owes him from cards a few weeks back. Wayne pays him the money, plus extra, bribing Dims to distract the men standing guard at the University gate. A few minutes later, Dims walks up to the gate wearing Wayne's hat, coat, and dueling canes. The men give chase and Dims runs, distracting the men and allowing Wayne to slip into the University.[1]
