Constable Brettin is the Constable-general of the Fourth Octant constabulary precinct.[1] He is a terse man who sees Lord Waxillium Ladrian as a nuisance, despite his heroic feat at the Yomen-Ostlin wedding dinner where no civilians died on his account.
He is later tricked by Wayne, in disguise as Captain Guffont Trenchant from the Seventh Octant, into letting the Vanisher prisoners be interrogated.[2]
He is replaced by the kandra TenSoon.[3][4]
