Bavadin
Abilities Shard of Autonomy
Homeworld Taldain
This page or section contains spoilers for Arcanum Unbounded!
This information has the ability to potentially ruin elements of the plot for the reader. Proceed with caution if you have not read this book.

You have accused me of arrogance in my quest. You have accused me of perpetuating my grudge against Rayse and Bavadin. Both accusations are true.

Bavadin is the original Vessel of the Shard of Autonomy.[1]

Bavadin is located on Taldain, the planet of White Sand.[2]. She is the only Shard there[3], but she uses various personas to appear to people as different gods and goddesses.[4]

Khriss writes that Bavadin supports a policy of strict isolationism for Taldain (to the detriment of Taldanian expatriates), while simultaneously being willing to meddle in the affairs of other worlds.[5] Khriss also identifies Bavadin using female pronouns, though her gender is unclear.[4]

Bavadin and Rayse

This page or section deals with theories or speculation.
Please read carefully and note that this is not necessarily canonical.

The author of the Letter holds a grudge against both Bavadin and Rayse for unknown reasons. It is speculated that Bavadin and Rayse are partners, though nothing is confirmed. She was apparently of help to him in Splintering the Shards of Dominion and Devotion[6], but the extent of this assistance and whether it was voluntary is not yet known.

Trivia

Among the original Vessels, Brandon is very fond of Bavadin.[7]
