Captain Matthew Cobb (callsign: Mongrel) is a flight instructor for the DDF and a First Citizen. He was the wingmate of Zeen Nightshade (callsign: Chaser), Spensa's father, and when Chaser betrayed Hope flight during Battle of Alta and began to shoot down friendly ships, Cobb shot him down on Ironside's orders.
