The Long Hunt was a culling of the drull that was initiated by Princess Feotora after Illarion the White Wizard brought word of the rise of the latest Dark One.[1] As commander of the Long Hunt, the princess set forth into the Blackened Lands to meet drull and their beasts with steel, before the Destined One would have to face the Dark One. During the hunt, Princess Feotora found the Dark One, Paul Tanasin, and attempted to slay him. She was defeated and left went back to the Kingdoms of Light to take word of what she had discovered.[2]
