Brightlady Jayla Ruthar is an Alethi noblewoman on Roshar during the Era of Solitude.

Appearance and Personality

Jasnah Kholin believes that Jayla and her husband are thieving and dangerous. They are usually political allies of Torol and Ialai Sadeas, who use them for their ambition.

History

At some point in her life, Jayla wed Highprince Ruthar and gave birth to their son Relis. She is the aunt of Elit Ruthar.

During the War of Reckoning, she presumably lived in the Ruthar warcamp on the Shattered Plains. In late 1173, she attended a meeting in the Pinnacle with other members of the Alethi nobility to discuss the threat of the Assassin in White.
