Balubal Razon
Profession Inventor
Homeworld Earth (Legion)

A man seeking to meld science and faith, the first person—perhaps in the history of mankind—to actually find a way to apply science to the ultimate truths of religion.

Tobias speaking about Balubal Razon[1]

Balubal Razon was an inventor on earth.[2]

Appearance and Personality

He is abrasive, argumentative, and very protective when it comes to his equipment.[3] His parents were both ethnically Filipino, but he is a second-generation American. He is both a scientist and a deeply religious Catholic.[2]

History

He went to the University of Maine and received a PhD in physics, without honors. He invented a camera that took pictures in the past in order to learn the truth of Christianity and the resurrection. He needed cash to build a working prototype, so he approached Azari Laboratories with promises to build one. After eighteen months of working with limited access to the labs, he developed a working prototype and got an official badge.[2]

He stole the camera from Azari Laboratories to go to Israel and fulfill its goal. After bragging to his mother, word got to Salic and the Abu Sayyaf about his plans. They pretended to be Christian fundamentalists so he would trust them. When he discovered the truth, he was captured and tortured by being beaten and having his hand cut off to determine the secrets of the camera. He chose to die rather than give up his secrets.[4]
